On the inner side of the outer shell, the A-5 s V2 has a perforated impact grille that is both the second line of protection in the hybrid structure and offers enhanced airflow to reduce heat build-up under the protection .
The dual zone chest protector, while having a firm central zone, has a soft flexible compound around the perimeter backed by soft bio-foam padding that works as an adaptive system that adapts to the chest. The central area of the chest protector directly behind the highly perforated impact grille is fully open to allow for maximum ventilation.
The new CE/UKCA Level 2 certified highly perforated back protector is made from a flexible and adaptive visco-elastic material which offers excellent ventilation and weight saving properties.
The chest and back protectors are held securely in place by adjustable shoulder straps. Bottom attachment is via the easy-connect buckles and V-straps that also secure the rib guards in place. The V-shaped straps distribute the clamping force over a larger area of the back protector resulting in a more secure and comfortable fit. Rib protectors offer additional coverage in critical areas.
The A-5's V2 Youth Chest Protector features removable CE/UKCA Level 1 certified viscoelastic shoulder protectors fitted to soft-touch foam padding and is secured to the main frame with hook-and-loop patches. Elastic upper arm adjustment straps keep the shoulder pads securely in place.
