The design of the S-M10 offers a smooth, attractive and aerodynamic profile, streamlined and free of any external channel and features that could
act as a point of loading in case of impact or compromise the overall integrity of the construction of the helmet.
The curvature of the surface promotes the reduction of friction at impact, allowing more efficient deflection and energy transfer to protect the pilot’s head from direct force to the skull and related to the neck and spine.
The S-M10 shell sizing solution ensures that each helmet fit measure has its own appropriate cap size to offer the most anatomical solution for the wide variety of fit needs worldwide, providing 4 different sizes of helmet cap S, M, L and XL and 6 consumer sizes from XS to XXL to ensure riders the correct fit that not only improves comfort and reduces overall weight, but also improves the effectiveness of the helmet in case of impact.
The construction of the helmet shell uses highly advanced molding technology with a multi-composite combination: 1) Carbon 3K, high density carbon outer layer that improves the strength and efficiency of energy dissipation on the shell, 2) Unidirectional carbon composite layer providing significantly greater radial force around the shell, preventing compression but allowing controlled deflection to reduce the transmitted impact energy, e 3) Aramid fibre layer providing critical protection against penetration. This combination of layers achieves even greater performance with an epoxy bond that offers the best possible strength and energy management; The limited deflection of the outer shell means that the energy spreads wider and is better absorbed by the 4 density EPS lining.
The result of the unique shell layering process used in the S-M10 construction results in extremely effective impact protection. The S-M10 returns linear and oblique impact performance that exceeds the standard regulatory limits of the current helmet. For direct linear impacts, ie an impact with an angle of 90 degrees between the helmet and an object, the SM10 exceeds the new standard ECE 22.06 for 2024 by a mean magnitude of 46% for impacts at normal speed. New to the ECE 22.06 standard, the new requirements now include low and high speed linear impacts where the SM10 exceeds the new ECE 22.06 Peak Linear Acceleration standards by 23% and 28% respectively
And for rotational acceleration and oblique impact performance, where impact energy comes from an angle other than a 90-degree or right-angle linear impact, the SM10 exceeds the new ECE 22.0 Peak Rotational Acceleration standard by 76%.
New profile of the redesigned chin guard, where the area of the base was specially sculpted to give a prominent section, raised to free the collarbone, with a new softer EPS coating that extends beyond the shell of the helmet itself and is covered by a more flexible rubber compound that offers a reduced chance of any type of injury to the collarbone.
Removable side pads made of a semi-soft polymer for added protection provide a wider contact area to help spread the energy of the impact.
